1. All Japan Kyokushin Union.

a. The two basic main faculties of the All Japan Kyokushin Union are the Tournament Institute and the Technical Dan Promotion Institute.
b. By all means the applicant must cooperate and take part in the activities related to the Tournament Institute.
c. Regarding the activities of the Technical Dan Promotion Institute, the applicant has the option to take part or not. However it is desirable the applicant takes part in both.
d. Even being affiliated with a group of Kyokushin, one can affiliate with the Kyokushin Union.

2. Basically appropriate persons to apply.

The persons who wish to affiliate comprehend the basic ideology of the Kyokushin Union, moreover the persons who have inherited the Kyokushin Karate techniques and spirit (Sosai Masutatsu Oyama's philosophy) and who intend to pass this knowledge on, have a possibility to join. Besides keep in mind that Kyokushin is to be rebuilt in a spirit of harmony.

3. Concrete notes for applicants.

a. Basically the persons having a descent from All Kyokushin who wish to affiliate, are subject to unite.
b. The Branch Chiefs and sub-Branch Chiefs who were under Sosai Masutatsu Oyama and those dojo that were established only at a later instant are basically another category.
c. There will be a deliberation held after a recommendation from three Shihans in order to become a recognized Shihan.
d. When affiliating as a dojo unit, the rights for that area (country / Prefecture, etc.) is not approved of.
e. At the time several dojo are gathered in the same area, they have to form a Union of that area.
f. If there is a group of only one dojo in a certain area, it will not be approved of as a Union.

4. Admission deliberation.

In order to be admitted, the following will be deliberated on.
a. All the particulars necessary for the admission. (report)
b. Reason for affiliating with the Kyokushin Union. (report)
c. Application form.
d. Technical test (Kihon, Kata, Kumite, Yakusoku kumite) by the Technical Dan Promotion Institute. (For the persons who cannot directly participate in this technical test, the test put on video will be examined.)
e. How training is conducted in the dojo will be examined on video tape.

5. Basis of recognition.

a. The persons who were Branch Chief under Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, and who are having a recommendation by three Recognized Shihans can be exempt from the Technical Test.
b. The persons who were sub-Branch Chiefs under Sosai Masutsu Oyama, and the persons who became dojo operators after that time, a decision will be taken based upon the "Admission Deliberation".
c. The persons who became dojo operators after Sosai Masutatsu Oyama passed away , and belonged to a group have to take part in the Technical Test, or can send in a video tape with the test. They have to mention to which group they belonged, which Branch Chief under Sosai Masutatsu Oyama was the head of that group.
d. The Kyokushin dojo that were existing under Sosai Masutatsu Oyama will be recognized as Kyokushin dojo. Those dojo that were already in the former days Kyokushin in descent, but who wish to affiliate, can be united if they participate in the Technical Test for the Kyokushin Dan Promotion Institute in Japan.

6. Admission accepted or not.

a. Admission accepted. (Admission conditions fulfilled.)
b. Admission postponed. (Admission conditions not sufficiently fulfilled, after guiding possibility of being accepted. So even in these cases correspondence will be continued.)
c. Admission rejected. (Admission conditions too reduced to be accepted.)
* Above mentioned are the 3 possible outcomes. Basically when admission is not accepted a policy of providing education is applied.

7. Granting Certificate of Approval.

The persons who fulfill the requirements of recognition will be granted a Certificate of Approval from the All Japan Kyokushin Union, so that those concerned can establish a recognized Kyokushin dojo.

8. Loss of licence of affiliation with the Kyokushin Union.

If an affiliated person comes under one of the following cases, a decision with a majority of over 2/3 of the Members of the Board of the All Japan Kyokushin Union can decide to withdraw the licence of the person concerned.
a. If a person brought disgrace on the name of Kyokushin Karate.
b. If a person acts against the goals of the Kyokushin Union, or causes a disturbance in the organization.
c. If a person doesn't contact the Kyokushin Union for two years, meaning there is a complete impossibility to contact.

1. Kyokushin Technical Dan Promotion Institute.

Dojo affiliating with the Kyokushin Union have the choice to affiliate with the Kyokushin Dan
Promotion Institute or not.
If affiliating with the Kyokushin Dan Promotion Institute, the Dan grade will be a recognized grade by the Kyokushin Union, certificate and belt can be issued.
If not affiliating with the Kyokushin Dan Promotion Institute, the dojo will provide for certificates and belts themselves.

2. Recognized Dan.

a. The Dan grades that were awarded still under Sosai Masutatsu Oyama are recognized by the Kyokushin Union. Others will have to send in their personal karate history and do a technical test,after that a deliberation will be held. The persons who are not in the possibility to do a technical test at the spot, can send in a video tape with the test recorded.
The persons taking the Kyokushin Technical Dan Promotion Test for a new grade have to adapt to its standard.
b. The dojo which do not affiliate with the Kyokushin Technical Dan Promotion Institute, obtain their grades for their dojo from the group where they belong to. However these grades are not recognized by the Kyokushin Technical Dan Promotion Institute. As these dojo are only affiliated with the Tournament Institute, they are expected to fully cooperate in the Tournament Institute.

3. Shodan Shinsa. (Dan Promoton Test)

Adapt to the standard of the Technical Dan Promotion Institute.
a. A test for upto and including 3rd Dan can be conducted by a recognized Shihan of 5th Dan and above.
b. A test for 4th Dan can be conducted by two or more recognized Shihans of 6th Dan and above delegated by the Technical Dan Promotion Institute.
c. The Technical Dan Promotion Institute will conduct tests for 5th Dan and above.
d. Basically tests for 5th Dan and above will be conducted in Japan. Tests for upto and including 4th Dan will be organized before or after international camps and international tournaments.
e. Every year a Dan Promotion test is organized after the All Japan Tournament, and once a year a Dan Promotion test is organized at the Kansai Honbu (Osaka), also after International Tournaments tests are held.

4. Technical Dan Promotion Institute Delegates.

The Technical Dan Promotion Institute can appoint Delegates (a recognized Shihan of 6th Dan and above), so they are entrusted to conduct tests in their region for upto and including 4th Dan.

5. Shodan Obi. (belts)

Belts of 4th Dan and above will have an embroidery on the back side in Japanese :
"Kyokushin Technical Dan Promotion Institute".

6. Shodan licences.

a. The dojo which are affiliated with the Technical Dan Promotion Institute can issue themselves Certificates and belts upto and including 3rd Dan.
Certificates and belts of 4th Dan and above, all recognized Dan-grades will be issued by the All Japan Kyokushin Union / Technical Dan Promotion Institute.
b. If however a dojo finds it necessary to re-issue certificates and belts, every re-issuing costs USdoll 100,-

1. Camps and Seminars.

Camps and Seminars are very important events of interchange where the technical part and spiritual part is certified.
If there is a request from a region or a country, the Technical Dan Promotion Institute can send a Shihan or an Instructor.

2. Kyokushin Union Recognized International Camp.

When several countries of a certain region are gathered, it is desirable to organize a camp.
When organizing such "Kyokushin Union Recognized International Camp", the Technical Dan Promotion Institute can send a Shihan or Instructor.
It is desirable not to have an International Tournament and an Interntional Camp in the same region in a relatively short time-span.

3. Seminar after the All Japan Tournament.

Every year, after the All Japan Tournament a Shihans' and Instructors' Seminar will be held.

4. Shihans' training (Camp)

Once a year in Japan a Shihans' training will be organized, in which all participants technical level will be elevated.

1. Kyokushin Tournament Institute.

Dojo who are affiliated with the Kyokushin Union, must affiliate with the Kyokushin Tournament Institute, and participate and cooperate in its activities, which is its utmost goal.
On national level too, there must be worked together in a spirit of harmony .

2. Kyokushin Union Recognized Tournament.

When organizing tournaments that are recognized by the Kyokushin Union, so-called "Kyokushin Union Recognized Tournaments", All Japan and International representative competitors can be decided upon.

3. Kyokushin Union Cup.

Overseas regions can organize international recognized tournaments (Weight Division) under the name of "00th Kyokushin Union Cup".

4. International Tournaments.

*Weight Division Tournaments.
Overseas regions recognized by the Kyokushin Union can organize Weight Division Tournaments, in turn with other regions.

* Open Weight Tournaments.
Japan will organize an Open Weight Tournament once in four years.

5. Karate Seminar / Referee Course.

Before or after an international tournament, the Technical Dan Promotion Institute will organize a Karate Seminar and / or a Referee Course.

6. Participating in other Kyokushin groups tournaments / other style tournaments.

a. As the Kyokushin Union is a collective body of Kyokushin groups, dojo are free to participate in interchange activities, however affiliated dojo must participate and cooperate in Kyokushin Union Recognized Tournaments.
b. Regarding participating in other style tournaments, basically the decision is entrusted with every individual dojo, but it goes without saying that it is better to refrain taking part in tournaments that harm the dignity of Kyokushin Budo Karate.
However, winning contestants of All Japan level (Best 8 of Open Weight Tournament / Best 4 of Weight Division) have a restriction, if these persons concerned wish to participate in a tournament organized by another style, it must be acknowledged by the Members of the Board of the Kyokushin Union.

7. Issuing referee licences.

Persons who succeed in the referee test organized by the Technical Dan Promotion Committee will have their Referee Licence issued.

8. Taking part in a tournament organized by a professional organization.

a. The Kyokushin Union does not recognize taking part in tournaments organized by professional organizations.
b. If somebody participates in a professional tournament, he does not longer belong to the Kyokushin Union, nor can he take part in tournaments organized by the Kyokushin Union.
c. However, after the person concerned retired from the professional activities, and he wishes to return to the Kyokushin Union, he can do so after the dojo responsible where he used to belong to can recommend him, and the Members of the Board of the Kyokushin Union acknowledge it.
